We have a virtually unlimited food supply and technology has made us much less active than our bodies were designed to be. We eat for pleasure, when we are stressed out and when we are bored. We have less time for exercise and leisure time.

Being overweight can lead to heart attacks, strokes, diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, back pain, fatigue and many other potentially serious health conditions. Many of these conditions could be controlled or, better yet, prevented.

Maintaining a healthy weight means developing healthy habits that lead to a longer, more vital life.
